Captured by a Memory

by Larry   Nov 13, 2005

I awoke quite early that winter morning,
I shall never forget the sight I beheld;
Your auburn hair and emerald eyes,
To me, were magnificent and adoring!

I scurried to speak with you without hesitation,
I shall never forget my clumsy speech;
I stumbled over my own words,
Yet, somehow they found their destination!

I remain still in a halfhearted attempt to move on,
I shall never forget the time we shared;
Your angelic voice is now a part of history,
Yet, I hold fast to the memory since the moment is gone!

I remember the day you captured me tenderly,
I shall never forget our unexpected affair;
The sights, sounds, and magic of that day,
For me, shall remain captured by a memory!

    Another well written poem. i liek the unusual rhyming scheme hing. one of the rhymes seems a teensey bit forced,m the "magnificent and adoring" bit. but its probably just personal opinion. great poem!...do you mind if i comment on lots of yours? i have nothing better to do.

    No, no, no. This deserves such a higher rating that what it presently is. This has emotion, and true beauty that a love poem should have. It is original, which I’m sure you know is hard to get from a love poem. I could really feel your words. I see the idea of the title competition wasn’t so bad after all, I mean this poem came from it. Thanks for sharing.
