An opening into my heart
A look into my core
A window into my soul
Is that what my poems are for?

With a pen I pour out my heart
To all who wish to listen
And so you all may understand
These tears that make my eyes glisten

The words I write are from deep inside
They tell of lost love, of pain
They express who I am, what I feel
They help me feel whole again

So now when I am feeling strongly
About the issues in my life
I have learnt to write it all down
Rather then turn to the knife

A beautiful kind of self therapy
So much healing they give
Sometimes I think to myself
They are the only reason I still want to live

An opening into my heart
A look into my core
A window into my soul
That is what my poems are for
