Next to you

by libby   May 1, 2006

I could melt all the ice in the world
with my tongue
if you
could give it warmth.

I could fix everthing broken, your bleeding heart
with my hands
if you
could give them strength.

I could run in dreams, visit by night, pounding hard
on my legs
if you
could give them reason.

But next to you
all the warmth, strength and reason
I could ever have
wouldn't matter.

Just give me...
Just let me...
Just be.
