Love at first sight

by Cinderalla   Jun 12, 2006

Your eyes are closed,
Your fists are clenched
You are shriveled up
Covered in crimson but
Your beauty astounds me,
You look so pure and innocent.

Your feet as soft as a petal,
Your skin as fragile as glass,
You appear so tender—
There are tears in my eyes.

You open the windows of your soul
And look around
At the bright, new world
That is different from the place you are from.

Everything is so new, so different
You do not know who you are
You look up at me,
At the tears in my eyes,
At my loving smile.

You open your mouth and let out a cry.
It sounds like music,
Like a lullaby.

I drown in your cry,
Your love,
Your innocence
And I promise you my darling son,
I’ll shower you with love
Forever true.
