Highest Hopes

by Danielle   Jun 14, 2006

He is the night's crescent moon;
she is but the whispering wind.
he shines brightly in the starlit sky;
while she stumbles clumsily through the leaves below.
he sits in the highest depths of the blue-black expanse;
yet she can dance no higher than the tallest branch of the evergreens.
he is the most beautiful attraction of the night;
but she is never seen and just barely heard within the breeze.
he becomes completely obscure upon the dusk ridden sky;
as she carries with her secrets deeper that any ocean.
he sheds a unique kind of light as his opposite disappears;
and she breathes life into everything she touches.
to her he is the unacheivable dream;
to him she is the invisible girl.
