Before The Black Crow's Eyes

by Daenerys Stormborn   Aug 13, 2006

Grey smoke billowing in the whispering breeze
Pine needles twittering in the great pine trees

Pale winter snow tumbling down the frosty mountain
Birds pecking ice crystals on the marble fountain

Red fox darting between the sunlit mighty oaks
Evil ones following close behind beneath their massive cloaks

White hare twitching his ears, listening to the crunch of leaves
Little heart bursting as the familiar dagger unsheathes

Brown bear hibernating with her precious cubs in arm
Two-legged creeping quietly closer, intending to do harm

Black crow watching as scarlet splashes the ivory ground
A friend's life taken before his eyes, but he never made a sound
