To me you were a brother,
Though we'd never been face to face,
But of me you wanted more,
How could that have been the case?

I barely even knew you,
Yet you seemed so very sure,
That we would be together.
It was too much to endure.

I don't want to kill our friendship,
But I can't keep telling you lies.
Cause whenever you speak of our future,
Tears start to spill from my eyes.

I never meant this to happen.
Please don't take it the wrong way,
But life is getting too crazy,
And this angel can't bare to stay.

It's time we've said goodbye now.
No, there's not a different lover.
The truth is plain and simple,
To me you were a brother.
