I Tried Hard

I cry myself to sleep at night,
Thinking about what I've been through,
All my life, I have always tried to please you.

I tried so hard to be perfect,
And be the daughter you wanted me to be,
But it was never good enough for you.

No matter how hard I tried,
I always did something wrong,
And you would shove it in my face.
