A Lament to Life

Why are people so afraid to live
So afraid to be happy
As said once by a great philosopher
Avoiding death it not the same as living life
Yet I look around me, All around, And u know what I see
I see people so unhappy, They bask in pain
They think what they feel tells them they're alive
Yet all they're doing is admitting that they're dead
Dead to the world
Dead to the living
And the greatest crime, Dead to themselves
The sadist part of it all is that these people don't want to live
Argue they would
Yell, Scream, Complain but the truth doesn't change
You are dead
You are the walking dead
Forsaking life for misery, Happiness for sorrow
I have pity for the dead
Though none for those who wish to be dead
Whom kill themselves
So my warning be this
All people have the capability of changing, everyone
However, If you wish to be dead, Darken not my doorstep
I will not help you
I couldn't help you, You don't want to be helped
You despise that which I hold so dear
You hate what I have and you lack
You are jealous at what I have, What you wont acquire
