If I Confess How I Feel

If I confess how I feel,
Will that make me feel better?
Will people start to care?
Or just talk about me more?

Will they tell me they love me?
And really mean it,
Or just say it to try,
To make me feel a little better?

Will my friends leave,
If they knew the real me,
Cause they don't want to be friends,
With someone like me?

Will everyone hate me,
Cause they found out I'm depressed?
Will they make fun of me more,
And tell me to go kill myself?

Will they stop all this hating,
And just be my friend?
Will they lend me their hand,
And tell me they're here for me?

Will they leave me alone,
And just let me be?
Will they try to help me,
Or just make me cry?

I'm scared of all these things,
I don't know what people will do,
And I don't think I want people to know,
What the real me is all about.

So I'll just pretend I'm happy,
And pretend that words don't hurt.
Smile when I walk through the halls,
And try not to cry when people are around.
