I Wouldn't Take That Bullet

by Avrii Monrielle   Feb 14, 2007

I Wouldn't Take The Bullet

I would never take the bullet for you
I'd push you to the ground
I'd keep you there till time stood still
Until you aren't found

I'd never take that bullet
I love you too much to die
I'd rather see you while you're here
If we both can stay alive

I don't mind if you hate me
For not taking that bullet
In the end, you'd have died too
Of the guilt caused by it

I'm sorry if you wanted
Me to take that lead
If I ever did,
It would be one to my head

That way, like the love song goes,
My heart would still go on
If I lay inside a coma,
Would you dare to sing that song?

If the killer wants to choose
A gold piece for their gun,
They may try to shoot me
Because I'd die for love

If you were to take the the hit instead
And you, instead of me, lay dead
I'd cock the gun again
And put it to my head

I need you, want you,
You should be mine, must be mine
My love for you is simply true
The best treasure I'll ever find

You I wouldn't want to die for,
But you, I'd want to die with
And live with you, just the same
Maybe with some kids

And once again the world would go
On; we'd still be living
If that bullet ever hits us,
May we both meet up in heaven.

I loved this poem because it really meant so much more than the cliché of dying for the one you love. Great poem. The rhythm and passion carried the meaning through the text like a boat through water.

I loved that, and it really is true. I know alot of people that say they would take a bullet for someone, but would instead just push them. Plus, if you think about it hard, then it has a much deeper meaning, yuo may or may not have intended for that, but i t does. good work, I gave it 5/5
