I Have......Have You?

Have you ever sat on a doorstep late at night
wondering why nothing in you life is going right?
......I Have
Have you ever went out to sit in the pouring rain
letting your tears wash away your inner pain?
......I Have
Have you ever experienced death, a loss so great
that you felt nothing inside but anger and hate?
......I Have
Have you ever laid a razor blade against your skin
pretending to release to demons that reside within?
......I Have
Have you ever drink to erase a problem in your head
thinking to yourself you would be better off dead?
......I Have
Have you ever lied, to those who cared about you
because you were so lost you didn't know what to do?
......I Have
Have you ever forgot what really mattered
just because one of your dreams shattered?
......I Have
Have you ever stayed up all night, doing dope
thinking it was the only way that you could cope?
......I have
Have you ever just given up, not wanting to go on
because all that you once loved was already gone?
......I Have
Have you ever prayed to God, not to see tomorrow
because you were in constant pain and sorrow?
......I Have

All of these emotions that we sometimes show
when our lives are spinning out of control,
cause so much sadness, and so much pain
that we begin to feel we've gone insane.

I just wanted everyone to know that if you
could answer......I Have to the question too
that you are not alone in this twisted life
So please put down your sharpened knife!

And try to look past all of the blinding pain
You have everything to lose, and nothing to gain
death is not a last resort, another way out
I do know what you are talking about.

For I have been there the same as you
lost and sad, not knowing what I should do
But I found a few others, like myself, in pain
and now I see that I am no longer insane.

I am sure that this poem is far from perfect, but I wrote because i went to a party this weekend with some of my friends that I haven't seen in awhile and there were alot of people that self harmed there like I used to, I wanted to let them know that they aren't the only ones who have felt that way. I wanted to let everyone know that they were not alone. It sucks to think that your the only one that does that.
