Untitled Again

by Beautifully Broken   Aug 1, 2007

Sitting in this dusky bar
Drain my memories in whiskey
Hiding in the darkness of this pub
The dark moody music playing in the background
As my tears hit the polished wood
So far in my mind I dont realized
Someone sitting down next to me
Downing the last of my drink I ask for another
Then finally looking over
I see who sits next to me
His head in his hands, tears falling
Just like me he drown pain and regret
The bartender looks at both of us
Just shakes his head and sits the bottle between us
We sit there sharing the bottle of the brown liquid
The time pasts neither one of us look up
Both to intent on our self pity
For some unseen reason I look at him
And his hands no longer cover his face
My heart stops beating
As my eyes follow his jaw line
Slowly my heart starts to beat again
Thump. Thump. Thump
As it steadies it self I close my eyes
Another deep breath and I simply cant deny
That the man sitting next to me is the one that makes me cry
Memories of that faithful night flash before me
Candles flicking as your hands caress me
Your lips finding mine
Cloths falling to the floor
Silk sheet against my back
Adrenaline rush
Your hand holding mine
As you slowly enter my body
Soft moans escape as our bodies finally join
For the first time
Climaxing together
Laying in the dark your cell phone rings
Breaking the mood
And I hear her voice asking you were you is
And then I hear the tone in your voice
When you reply "at a friend house Ill be home soon, I love you"
My heart drops
You get up and dress, never looking at me
Then you finally say it
"We are done; I cant be friend with you"
With a blink of an eye
My memories fade away
As clear as a sunny day
I look at you, and try to remember your smile
I sit there my glass in my hand
And watch you
The bartender comes over
And asks you whas wrong
Your smooth velvety voice replies
"I've lost my best friend, and my wife left me"
As the words sink in to me
I get up and leave
Making it just out the door
Before I fall to my knees
My heart shattering all over again
The pain mind numb
Unable to get back up
My head against my knees
The tears come in full force
Images of you swirl around me
Digging the knife in to me further
The rain starts to pour
I sit there trying to catch my breath
As I hear the door behind me open
And I hear footstep
A strong hand falls upon my shower
Pulls me up
And there I am staring at your face
A grin upon it
As if you've found something you lost so long ago
And I turn away ashamed of what your saw
I walk towards my place,
The rain pounding the sidewalk
My steps becoming faster and faster
My heart racing again
Scared of letting you hurt me again
I hear you footsteps following me
My front door in front of me
Fumbling with the keys
You come up be hind me
All you say is "Can we talk?"
And there I was helpless to you once again
Swore never again
