This was beautiful.
I liked how it was simple honestly, it doesn't actually tell a story of what really happened to Sam but it did tell it as being around then passing away. you did an amazing job and im sorry about your lost.

There's no purpose in changing an already simple and effective structure, which is what you had to start with. It's fine the way it is.
