She sat on those steps
And stared into space
Blended into the crowd
And yet out of place

Bruises and wounds
Adorned her soul
Her heart was broken
She was shattered on the whole

She knew she didnt deserve
To be lonesome and betrayed
She longed for the love
That had,to her,been essayed

Broken to smithereens
Like a shattered chandelier
Her eyes were blurred and hazy
But now she saw it clear

It just wasnt worth it
The thing they called trust
A broken heart and soul
A clear sign of injust

It never has existed
That thing they call love
The angels always knew it
