Friend

by Jason   Oct 4, 2007

Leaving behind time that's now lost

Decisions lead to changes, no consider of cost

Now leading in directions further apart

No more midnight phone calls or explanation of heart

As the things of old are restored to new

Friendships formed fusion between two

Covering the longing that each of us crave

A giant bolder blocking the exit to the cave

Once a second drive now the labyrinth maze

Unclear desperation unconsciously placing the blame

Searching frantically for the final puzzle piece

A drink of water to clench the desert heat

Like tearing bark off a petrified tree

One less person there for me

Although within reach of an artists piece

A devastating vastness causes each soul to weep
