To Whom It May Concern

by Holly Nicole Williams   Oct 10, 2007

You were the love of my life
My best friend
In your arms I'd sleep sound at night
I figured you would be there to the end.

Alcoholism and drug addiction is hard they say
It makes you hurt that much more
One more drink or one more high and I'll be okay
But it only adds salt to the sore.

You say you love me and you'll be clean
But you do things to start it up
And we go back around and around all over again.

They say love conquers all
But now I'm not so sure
You set yourself up for another fall
And loved ones are again set up to be hurt.

You see, alcoholism and drug addiction doesn't just effect you
It effects you and everyone else around
It breaks up friendships, and families too
No more is there a mind that's sound.

Please bring back the one that I know and love, true love of mine
For I don't want there to be any goodbyes
Not another sad ending to another sad love song.
