A Child's Deep, Dark Dream

by Johnnys Medicine   Oct 10, 2007

A child walks down the wooden steps
Going deep into the earth under his home
Into a deep, dark place.

He walks so quietly
He seems to float down the steps
Floating quietly upon the old and fragile steps.

He floats down towards a sweet and kind voice
Beckoning him forward
Begging the child to come near.

He has never really knew his father
He's drawn towards this voice
With high hopes that his father is there.

Once at the bottom of the wooden steps
He tries to turn back
Turn back and run to the light above.

But it's too late now
He has fallen for the bait Satan himself has set
Forever damning his soul to the darkness below.
