You could have the world beneath your feet
If you wanted, you could stand on top of stars
You never wanted more than I could give
But I didn't give it all
Never asked me to say more than I would say
So I never said a word
All you asked was a little love
Something you called fairness
I ask: Where did I think we were going?
When I didn't give you any ground to walk
You know, it's hard to say
You're happy with the love you chose
When looking at all the love you lost
The hardest thing admitting is
Nothing we did was wrong
But what happened is still
Far from right
