My Graduation

by Shaikha MB   Dec 28, 2007

The Sun sets before us,
Sending its rays to shine upon us.

On this very day,
As we all sit here and pray,
We know there is no more time to play,
For it is no longer May.

On this day,
This day like no other,
We stand here all together,
Hoping for the better,
Thoughts that we might still be with each other,
If not, oh brother!

As we sit here in anticipation,
We need not worry about mathematical calculations,
Loads of rules, restrictions and regulations,
Nor students and their nonsense predictions,
As there are no longer any class student council elections.

As we must worry about is our lack of concentration,
For we need to get involved and make contributions,
As well as pay attention to people's recommendations,
And for other's be a good role model and make good demonstrations.

All so fast.
Our 12 years have passed,
We knew it wouldn’t last,
Casting a shadow from the past,
But didn’t think it would fly by so fast,
For they truly were the best.

All around me,
As far as my tearing eyes can see,
We stand tall and proud,
And in purple, we definitely stand out in a crowd.

Today, with our certificates in hand,
We have taken a stand,
Horry!
Today, we have taken our first leap,
Into an ocean so deep,
An ocean of opportunities,
Lined with probabilities.

Remarkable out achievements,
For all we had to do is be true,
And not be so blue.

To give our mind,
With our hearts binned.

May your hearts be filled with joy,
May you always smile,
May love and faith bind you to your path,
And may all good things in your life start to last,
Don’t forget to have a blast.
