A letter for my son

by who i am is me   Oct 7, 2013

A letter for my son
My dearest son...
How do I?
How can I possibly give you my heart in such few words
When I do not know them all?
There is a wild and extravagant infinite
To share with your shaping mind.
My hope for you, should there be only one, is that you may realise you are a seed planted in Eden
And in your garden, I know your flowers will blossom and the fruits will ripen
Your roots will penetrate deep into the soil
Giving your branches and trunks the most sturdy of foundations
With your continued ascendence, therefore,
I find comfort in the certainty
that even when the wind blows,
you will not be moved but for your own seeds to be carried beyond the horizon.
Life is full of questions for you,
and although it is not impossible for you to know all the answers,
Is it not better to follow the sun,
than to say it sets in the west?
The world is yours, my son
And in mine,
You compellingly fortity the reasons and the purpose...
