    Two Teachers
    by Spirit

    He taught me faith,
    you taught me pain.
    You showed me hopelessness,
    he kept me sane.

    You showed me hate,
    he showed me love.
    You live in hell,
    he lives up above.

    He taught me kindness,
    you taught me doubt.
    When you showed me noise
    silence would drown it out.

    He taught me faith,
    you taught me pain.
    When you taught me hopelessness,
    he kept me sane.

    Testimony of Faith
    by: MaryAnne

I have gone through my life
like the packed pages of a book,
    comprehending just the words
    never caring to fully look.
    The meanings have run past
my worried and mixed up mind,
    then vanished into the unknown
their lessons I won't ever find.

    I have never truly seen
the breaking dawn with fair eyes,
    for distractions entangle me
    and breathe false heresies.
I think of myself in high regard
when in actual sound and sight,
    I am Satan's left hand
    crushing all sense of light.

I claim your voice is unheard
like a silent but firm calling,
    hiding away in mountain caves
    your people's faith is falling.
    With blindness I perform
    charismatic acts and deeds
    but lacking the honest love
that has sowed our withered seeds.

Where the river meets the sea,
    I shall collide with destiny,
and my soul once more made free.

    Willows whisper in chorus
as young winds join their chant,
souls of the sinners and saints
dance about the sunlight for long.
I see your presence in others
as I realize you came to save all,
    please open my closed heart
    and break this stubborn wall.

I no longer lurk in mournful shadows
but light my candle of hope
for you have ignited my spirit and soul
    and illustrated ways to cope.
I am now a daylight songbird
    having earned loving wings
forever will I pronounce your name
Oh Lord of lords, King of kings.

Awesome job so far!!! Keep them coming. This competition isnt as easy as it seems. These poems are beautiful, and what makes them more beautiful is that they speak about what God has really done in their lives!

Keep them coming, and invite friends to take up this challenge as well! :)
