    The Gift of Christmas

    Expensive presents wrapped in fabric
    Striped candy canes swirling with taste
    Circle about the lighted evergreen
    Waiting to bring joy that one won't waste.

    Yet the children will soon grow out
    Of china dolls and wooden trains
    And desire a life filed with envy
    That dominates and entertains.

    Materialistic goods bring joy
    But not everlasting bliss
    Their main goal is to tease
    And make you whine and miss.

    Many do not call me blessed
    For I have no trustworthy friends
    But over the years I have concluded
    That faith and hope always mend.

    My heart is no longer lonely
    Nor regretful for ever living
    For I was lost but now am found
    And am in pure thanksgiving.

    All I have is my loving Father
    Lulling me to sleep in His right arm
    He is where my soul lies
    And is protected from evil's harm.

    I do not wish for a home
    With a fire burning inside
    For Christ has given me love
    And opened His heart wide.

    All I ask for this season
    Is for everyone to understand
    That Christ is Christmas
    And in Him love will stand.

    Holidays Alone

    I guess I'll spend the holidays alone
    Everyone's words are now one long drone
    You've left and I have no one to lean on
    For now I'll stick to friends because your gone

    Christmas with just me, myself, and I
    This predicament makes me want to die
    Please think of me on the 25th of December
    Don't sit and wallow just please remember

    Just know that I am thinking of you
    Because what we had, it was true
    The fact that we drifted apart,
    This statement is tearing me apart

    I'm trying not to let my mind wander
    Because it will always wander back to you
    If you happen to miss me I want to let you know,
    That every part of me misses you too

    Driving Home and Dreaming of Christmas
    by dollwithafrown

    Curling under cotton wool and humming
    tunes only James recognizes is golden;
    writing words and creating legacies,
    unknown and unloved, but always,
    (always),
    remembered,
    simply for how burning
    the passion was, or simply for how misunderstood
    was the creator.

    (question?)

    and sleepless nights are piling high;
    gingerbread lattes only get you so far,
    every car faces a car crash; not all are able
    to miss it;
    very little are able to survive it if they don't.
    I can't stay awake anymore;
    (the caffeine is running dry).

    snow laces the icy ground like fireworks;
    pretty pictures paint my mind shades of
    colours I'm all too familiar with,
    and yet I've never seen before.
    Santa says hello, you know,
    (santa says hello).

    eyelids dripping, pupils swollen -
    can't see, too tired.
    Christmas signs,
    happy holidays:
    will I wake up in the morning and open
    presents with the family?

    gingerbread lattes only get you so far,
    and only some cars survive the car crash,
    (far too sleepy, can no longer see)
    wake up, James, you're falling asleep,
    your heart's no longer beating;
    the golden tunes are quiet.
    merry christmas, everyone.

    (will I wake up in the morning?)

    Our first Christmas, my favourite holiday.

    Snow , snow falling down.
    Falling lightly on the ground.
    Wind blows , mistletoe shakes.
    Lips tickle my nose and makes my belly ache.
    Christmas day, and my lover stays.
    We rush off to dinner, so we don't be late.
    There's a pot roast and chestnuts too.
    Mash potatoes and cookies for you.

    After we're done, we put on our scarves.
    Then out we go and run across so far.
    A chilly frost, ice thickly freezes.
    We put on our skates while I give him kisses.
    Hoping not to fall, I slide to win races.
    But I slip and I trip, and bring him down with me.
    We yell in pain, then laugh at our faces.
    He hugs me so tight, and I do the same.

    He says fate has brought us together this Christmas.
    I cant help but to feel so excited about it.
    His hand in his pockets, he takes out a box.
    I opened it up , and he sees me so shocked.
    I begin to smile. I love it so much.
    Inside is a locket with a snowflake engraved.
    He says, a reminder of our first Christmas,
    My favourite holiday.
