Something a Little Different

I love emotional poems. The ones that really touch your heart in some way. And there are so many incredible ones to read on this site.

But I would love to read some happy poems, ones that are funny and can make people laugh.

hand in hand we walk alone
to our special place down by the lake
your smile reminds me of cotton candy
and your smell reminds me of rain

i love the way you play with my hair
as we sit along the water and skip rocks
you tell me I'm beautiful and I am forever
you knew how to make me smile

we watched the sun drag down
right behind the mountains to the east
and watched the first stars peak out for the night
a shooting star drew across the sky

we layed together and i ran my fingers
through the tall long grass at my side
until... i jumped up from something fury i felt!
i screamed in horror not knowing what it was!

it got scared too and ran towards me
and right as I was about to run
the furry animal i realized to be
was my pet cat wandering the lake

My Soulmate

Once in a while, I crack a wry smile.
From within the abyss, a memory does surface.

Like that time with the sheep, that pooped in a heap;
One look from you and it was straight to the Loo.

Or when we had ice-cream and I walked into that beam!
You laughed so hard, you pee'd your leotard.

Your sense of humour would unleash a rumour;
Like my friend Sam, you said was walking with a pram!

The next day at school, he felt a fool -
The brand new Dad!! Boy, was he mad!!

I fell in love that day, admiring your wicked way.
You looked me in the eye and cracked a wry smile!

I want to tell you i love you, I want to talk to you all night,
But I am slightly deranged and i don't make you feel right,

I am super creepy, and I collect your hair,
You have no clue, so how can you care,
