Weekly Picture Prompt

Hello, everyone. It's been quite a while since our first picture prompt and I know everybody has been busy especially during the holidays. I am reviving this thread, with the same system: each one will have a chance to post a picture here for us to interpret thru a poem. I would like to continue where we left off, so I am asking Michael to give us a picture prompt next Friday. Michael will then assign who will be the next one to give the prompt.

A prompt is intended to make us explore on our poetry.
This is our picture for this week:

Let's see how you unleash your creativity with this. Every one is encouraged to post his/her piece here, also to leave his/her comments on other poems posted. :-)

    Spanish Ladies

Three Spanish ladies sway under the tree
Such beautiful flowers, lovely to see
Those three hearts combined with skirts to the knee
watching them dance always fills me with glee

Hot Spanish tapas and full bodied wine
skirts waving, feet tapping all in a line
I look at their smiles all sunny and shine
a celebration of fruit from the vine

This Spanish music is under my skin
for me not to join them seems such a sin
I roll up my jeans to show off my shin
Slide in beside them with a joyful grin

Wow, what a way to start, Milly!!! Loved your fiery Spanish interpretation! Ohhh, this is pretty cool and just amazing. Really well rhymed too! We also get to see your fun side here. Loved it!

    Mardi Gras

    The floats rumble
    beads tumble
    dancing strutters
    make hearts flutter
    bands play
    crowds sway
    more floats
    screaming throats
    “throw to me!”
    grab booty:
    toys that glow
    carnival dough.

    Parade ends
    your back bends
    so many beads!
    too much greed
    carry it home
    parade syndrome
    tomorrow night
    do it right
    catch even more
    til arms are sore.

    La Cha Cha Boom

La Cha Cha Weeeee, La Cha Boom
We dance and sing, like this til noon
Sway to the right, and to the left
La Cha Cha, we dance from the womb

We dance and whirl, to the drum beat
Many people dance with us too
Shake the snake and dance the dipper
We all dance here on Cha Cha street

La Cha Cha Weeeee, La Cha Boom
We dance and sing like this til noon
Sway to the right and to the left
La Cha Cha, we dance to our tomb
