The Fire

by rosalina calling   Feb 15, 2008

The fire is burning brightly
It catches me off guard
The fire flares up just lightly
It hits me fast and hard

The flames jump up and they run free
It starts to scare me just a bit
It threatens to consume me
My body freezes, waits so stiff

The fire rages all around
Everything it touches, it will burn
It can't be stamped into the ground
It can't be stopped, it can't be turned

Red and oranges burn so strong
The fire glares in brilliant colors
It looks like there is nothing wrong
Invisible to all the others

They cannot see it with the naked eye
Nothing betrays it, not a clue
It's covered in a million lies
As slippery as the morning dew

Now full grown, only a spark to start
It burns on strong and true
This is the desire that flames in my heart
Every time I see you
