Chivalry

She's been waiting for this moment
Every second of every day
For her knight in shining armour
To come and take her away

Take her away to a fantasy land
With princes, queens and kings
With castles, and a clear blue sky
Show her some of the greatest things

Bring her over to where dreams come true
Where her wishes and prayers are heard
A place where chivalry is not yet dead
And she can fly up high, just like a bird

Every girl has an image of her prince
One of her dreams and a perfect place
She'll find the love she's looking for
Then her imagination puts her to chase

She tries hard to find the perfect man
She goes on searching for every trait
That she has ever written down or thought
She waited, but realized it was too late

You see, she couldn't just keep waiting
For someone who just did not exist
Realizing perfection just wasn't a trait
So she erased everything from her list

Until a man appeared from a corpuscular light
He lifted her right up from her feet
He helped her define the laws of gravity
One goal, she thought she could never meet

He had an amazing way of words with her
He had no traits listed from up above
He was nothing she ever wanted before
But suddenly she started to fall in love

She was amazed by the perfection she saw
Even though he had brown eyes, not blue
And he had brown hair, instead of blonde
I guess, someone finally reached through

Her wall was broken and he climbed over
She was so pleased by his presence
This girl, she couldn't ask for any more
Now her life, it finally made sense

When she finally decided to take a chance
She realized the list didn't matter
His imperfections were so perfect to her
Her heart, it was no longer tattered
