There I Stood; Here I Stand

by RB   Feb 17, 2008

The other night,
There I stood,
Contemplating,
If we could...

So far apart,
And yet so near,
Your distant heart,
I'm apt to fear.

Do you struggle,
Just to feel?
Deep within,
Is it not real?

I need you like,
Hearts need a beat,
I freeze when I,
Can't feel your heat.

You look at me,
Then look away.
Your arm's around me,
But is it here to stay?

You kiss my lips,
With gentle touch,
I try to forget,
That I love you so much.

Collapsing before you,
You watch me bleed,
I scream so loud,
'You're all I need."

But you can't hear,
My lonely cries,
Can't see the tears,
That fill my eyes.

Open your heart,
Or it may be too late,
I want you and need you,
But it's too hard to wait.

Again tonight,
Here I stand,
Reaching out,
To grip your hand...
