There's something

by Katrine   Feb 19, 2008

Three years
my heart still claws its way up my throat
when you look at me with those eyes.
forever I have loved those eyes.
Softer
and more comforting
then any blanket that could tuck me in at night.
everything about you is so fermiliar
so real
so everlasting.
I would let you hold me until my body crippled inward and decrepit
twisted by the years of age.
But in this dance for two
we are not honest
and I know you too well not to see it.
And at the end of the day
we run.
Scamper back to the ones we pledge to.
The many we've pledged to.
But I want you to know I think
you're something special.
There's something different
in the kiss
in the touch
in the tap on the window pane.
And there is something more then love
more then daunting pain
more then life
and it makes us
us.
Something that lets me know
as long as you're alive I'll never be lonely
and even when I stop breathing,
I'll always care.
