I choose to remember

by Kaetaj   Feb 21, 2008

I choose to remember.
I choose to remember those who fought in the war,
Though I sometimes have forgotten, I praise who they are
I sometimes feel sorry for those soldiers who have died,
and their children and wives who were left behind.
Many soldiers had grave injuries,
some even became amputees.
Those soldiers in battle were so brave,
I guess they found comfort knowing people would be saved.
And now some have met their final resting places,
Their families will miss their belovedsmiling faces.
So we all wear poppies this time in November,
To pay tribute to Veterans we still remember.
Unfortunately there is still war,
with people who come from afar.
They've come up with some sort of new revolution,
leaving these countries in destitution.
I hope one day the world will be free
from fighting and bickering; it need not be.
I choose to remember.

This is really very good,I think it might read a little better if you changed it to stanzas ,I loved the content and the way you worded it.excellent job.
