Love Is Free, Like Faith

Fancy cars, money, and your charm
All I do not need,
So please don't throw them at me,
It offends me, can't you see?

You speak in a way,
As if all those things could buy me,
When I already have all that I need,
My family, my good health, and my intelligent brain to think,

My time is priceless,
Nothing that you have can make you worthy of my time,
Unless I feel and state otherwise,

Yes it is nice that you have all those things,
Yes you should feel proud and accomplished in life,
But that does not buy you a ticket of my precious time,

Everything you have,
If I really wanted it, I can obtain whenever I wish to,
And it wouldn't have to be with you,

So please set that aside,
And show me who you are deeply inside,
I wish to meet you, not your accessories,
For there are so many things I'd love to know,

Can you make me laugh when my world feels upside down?
Can you be there when I need you the most?
Can you be trusted, respected, and admired?

I seek that special individual that will grow with me,
I seek that special individual that will build with me,
I seek that special individual who wont hold me back from working towards my dreams

So put away your
Fancy cars, money, and your charm
For these are things I do not seek.
