This Baffling Affair

by Jessica   Feb 27, 2008

I feel the tension between us

The unsaid lies turned into mush.

The wild gasps of air you take

The unsteady hand that shakes.

You asked me if I meant it

I told you it was a skit.

Your lips land on mine

But I feel the disdain and push you aside.

We never understood this baffling affair

As out fingers interlaced knowing we were about to

start all over with this despair.

Thank you so much! This was my first two poems and I was a little effy with them. I normally write stories, so this means a lot to me.

    Thanks again Noor!
