Memories

by Madison   Mar 7, 2008

Wind, sleet, snow, and rain . . .
Nothing at all can compare to my pain.
Broken and shattered, I journey back in time.
All of my memories are like pictures in my mind.
I'm going back to a time
When you were mine and I was yours,
Back when my heart was free of all these slices and sores.
For a moment, my memories come alive
And are once again real.
All of my wounds seem to magically heal.
Hand in hand, we walk along the football field together,
Our ears ringing with "TOUCHDOWN!!!!".
You whisper in my ear,"I hope you'll stay mine forever."
I smile at you as the crowd cheers for the win
Of our small hometown.
Suddenly, everything just fades away.
I find myself back in class,
And the teacher asks,"Are you awake?".
Then I remember that it is no longer September.
Now, you are gone and I am lost.
I promise I will find a way to get you back
No matter what it costs.
