Final Showdown

by Brooke Mason   Mar 10, 2008

I can't breathe without you here
Remembering
Remebering the times
When you were near

Those long walks
Hand-in-hand
The words spoken
I try to forget

I look at the moon
Remembering the time
When we looked together
When you were mine

My heart rate increases
I hear nothing at all
I see your face at twilight
Hidden in a crystal wall

I try to reach out
But you turn away
My tears are silent
I'll remember this day

They hook me up to a machine
Trying to keep me alive
I don't want to live
Without you, I'll die

The world is so black now
I can't see your face
You want me gone
You don't leave a single trace

I lay in white sheets
Looking around
Wondering if you know
I don't hear a sound

You never show up
You never come see
You never face what it was
That you really did to me

They lower me down
In a prison of wood
If only you'd saved me
If only you could

On my tombstone it says
The reason I died
My tombstone is false
The engravers, they lied

You see, they say,
I died trying to starve
But the truth is this
It's from a broken heart
