Tonight

by Mandy   Mar 10, 2008

Leave it all behind tonight.
Come into my world.
No walls, no fence to keep us in-
this freedom is mutating like a virus in my blood.
I used to think it was impossible, you and I-
but now I've realized
that boundaries only exist in your mind.

Let this orange sky fall over us
and let us breathe tonight
the air we always feared to breathe;
we're free of that tonight.

Tonight, oh
tonight is our last chance
to leave this bitter world behind
Let your eyes sink into mine
Let your hand crawl into mine
Let them talk, let them laugh
let them write our epitaph
but still, we laugh in silence
laughing at their ignorance

We'll never know if we live after we die
all we know is that tonight were alive
I don't know where you come from
or long you'll be with me
all I know is that tonight youre mine

Tonight, oh
tonight is our last chance to rule the world
Tonight, oh
tonight is our last chance to save our lives
We control our destiny,
so put your hand in mine.

    Hiya,
    I liked the pace of this piece. I especially enjoyed the 3rd stanza:
    Tonight, oh
    tonight is our last chance
    to leave this bitter world behind
    Let your eyes sink into mine
    Let your hand crawl into mine
    Let them talk, let them laugh
    let them write our epitaph
    but still, we laugh in silence
    laughing at their ignorance

    Have you any other gems?
