Salute to America

by Kara   Mar 17, 2008

I watched as you walked out that door
You never seemed like you really wanted to leave
Dressed in uniform
You take your stand
Salute to you

Tears fall from her cheek
She takes a wave good-bye
You bow your head
Baby
I only will salute to you

She stands at the window
watching the rain fall
As the TV talks about the helicopters going down
5 of Americas men found dead
When will the war be done?
A bomber sends two buildings down
Salute to the General

Mommy when will daddy be back home?
Soon sweetheart
Hey sis when is your husband coming back
Soon I hope
as a tear runs down the womens faces
Salute

When your far from her
All she can think of is whats going to happen next
How many people will die till everyone has power
All we ever want is
one more love song
one more kiss good-bye
one more look into our eyes
Salute to the solders
Salute to the officers
Salute to the government
