God Bless the Ghetto

by allidoiswrite82   Mar 20, 2008

God bless the ghetto
And souls on these streets
His unforgotten children
And the enlightenment we seek

God bless the hood
And the block that where we live
And God bless the corners
And the dirt that we did

God bless the hustlers
beating down the pavement
Helping out themselves
And overcoming enslavement

God bless the mothers
doing the job of Fathers
And God bless the Fathers
that won't just say holla

God bless the sons
Growing up to be men
God bless the girls
As independent women

God bless the souls
everyone young and old
And thanks for the gift
Of making us in your mold

God bless the blessed
The African Goddess
that gives birth to kings
nothing more nothing less
