Perfect guy

Every girl says they want the perfect guy
but i had to let him go
there's so much no one can get
and i refuse to let them know

i cant live knowing I'm hurting him
or think i am bringing him down
hes better off without me
though he might not realize it now

one day he'll see me like everyone else does
through eyes of disgust and hate
but instead he sees the good me
and goes on about love and fate

how did a girl like me get such a perfect guy?
it just doesn't make sense?
and how can he still love me?
when I've driven him up a fence?

my heart wants him
but my head is saying no
i need to figure it out
why did i let him go?

i love him
and i know that now
but I'm not good enough
but somehow

I'm all he wants
but i don't feel up to par
and i feel like he is lying to himself
because loving me doesn't get anyone far

    hey Lexi. have to agree with Michelle. time is what you have so don't rush it. and yes, everyone deserves love, deserves to be loved! i'm not sure what made u think u do not deserve someone (Chris?), but i've kinda felt that way before too so i may just understand how u feel... but i've also learnt that loving someone and being loved made me a much better person! so do not push yourself down...

    AWww Lexi, sorry you feel this way...and everyone is deserving of love and if you've found a great guy(is it Chris??) that loves you then just see where it goes...looked up your profile and you have plenty of time!! so don't rush it! but give it a chance anyway, that never hurt anyone...don't ever refuse love, in any way shape or form..really enjoyed your poem and will go on and read more as I have time..been soo busy lately like everyone...take care, and hey! thx for checking out my poems and thx to Chris as well for telling you to, makes me feel great...take care!!
