She Said She was Sorry

by Rose Noble   Mar 24, 2008

They knew each other
For a few good years.
Whenever she cried,
He'd wipe away her tears.

All their friends waited
They knew what the two shared.
They knew he would ask her
And tell her how much he cared.

A few good months
Together they had.
Before she moved
And felt really bad.

She said she was sorry
It just wouldn't work
But she didn't mention
Her love for a clerk.

They met again in college
And it was awkward at first
But then they realized
They cleanse each other's thirst.

One day he caught her
With his best friend
He then said sadly..
"Our love has got to end."

She said she was sorry
She needed more than him
But he just walked away
Knowing life would be dim.

They couldn't stop thinking
About one another
So one day, boredly
He looked up her number.

They met at a restaurant
And he gave her flowers.
Until it was time to go,
They would talk for hours.

They made their way out
But a stranger grabbed her arm
And if they did what he said
There'd be no harm.

She made a wrong move
And was shot in the chest
He screamed and rushed forward
But she needed eternal rest.

She said she was sorry
But he'll find love again.
She'll wait at Heaven's gates
Because he was her best friend.

After a while
He died in bed
And met her in Heaven
And happy tears were shed

She said she was sorry
She died in his arms
He just embraced her..
They had missed each other's charms.

I'm sorry no one else has taken the time to read/comment this. It's purely amazing. Usuually I frown upon the short rhyme scheme thing, but I wouldn't suggest you do anything other than you did. This poem is excellent, the story is touching sad, and filled with love, so it takes you through many of the basic emotions, and then pulls you further...and excellent peice of writing...!

    Rock on!
