If OnLy...

by Lorryn   Mar 27, 2008

You look at me across the room,
saying my name with tender lips,
Lets just let our love bloom,
let it over shadow the world like an eclipse.
But your feelings are pure,
and you have never been so sure,
that our love will never be,
much more you than others decree.
Even if i leave tomorrow,
im nothing more than a friend,
your shoulder i will never borrow,
when i need to mend.
So there i am across the room,
at your call i can only assume,
you want to hug me like only a friend could,
if you knew what that hug meant to me,
if only you understood.

This was an okay piece, I think. Towards the end it got a little messy, and the rhymes disappeared. The rhyme scheme throughout was a little, messy, weird, confused, or maybe that's just me. I liked the idea/story though.
