Ingrid what a breath taking piece you've penned here dear lady ....

    One tiny seed refused
    to surrender
    to the elements and
    transformed into
    a beautiful tree with a
    firm trunk and big branches.
    ^^^
The will to survive .... wonderful message between the lines dear friend

    It was not until then
    I realized
    how much I longed
to return to his green pastures
    and walk amidst the flowers
    in his garden of paradise.
    ^^^
    Beautiful!

Ingrid this piece is wonderfully penned. Your talent shines in this piece. You are a blossoming flower Ingrid .... and your talent is growing.
    Awesome read

What a beautiful poem. I love the life sustaining message.

    It was not until then
    I realized
    how much I longed
to return to his green pastures
    and walk amidst the flowers
    in his garden of paradise.

And as I cross the threshold
I can almost smell the roses.

    These lines really touched me.
    Great Job!

    Metaphorically awesome Ingrid! So beautiful!
we give them life then watch them grow...til they no longer need us in one sense!

    "It no longer needs
    my loving care
    to stay alive
    It knows how
    to survive and endure
    even the heaviest of storms
    and the biggest of floods
    because I taught it how."

^ love these lines.....an inspiration! Take care, Debbie

Wow this is unique and different from alot of the poems i read its wonderful the wording and format. i like the fact you describe what you miss and the situation is clear. it makes a person want to miss that land even though they haven't been there. keep writing

I enjoyed this poem, the metaphors, well every thing.

My seed is still only a sapling, well maybe a very young tree. Still needing support and will do for some time yet. I look forward to stepping back and marvelling at how strong he is now, knowing no storm will snap his precious branches.

    Good write

I think this may have been written about your son. What a beautiful poem and how wonderful you heard God call you and knew you were coming home. This will be in my favourite poems. I too have a lovely son who is like a tall oak and when read your poem think of him. Thank you
