The white noise

by Mateja   Apr 9, 2008

I wish I could make these words roll off of the tip of my tongue,
Push them past my lips,
Make them see the brightness of the world,
And let them breathe...

I wish they could fly away until they find you,
Then gently brush against your cheek,
Find their way into your ear,
And make you turn around...

I wish they would make you see me,
For who I really am...
At least once,
At least now,
At least for the very first time,
And never again...

I wish, I wish...
But that doesn't do the trick,
Does it?
Wishing on a falling star,
On a coin thrown in a fountain,
It does not work...

I’m still standing in the same spot,
I’m still looking through a glass wall,
Unable to walk past the barrier,
Unable to break the noise of the silence...

So I wish I could find the strength my first step across the barrier,
wish for the strength my voice and speak against the silence..
I wish.
I wish.
But just wishing is not enough...
