Uncertian bird

by Cellina Rodriguez   Apr 15, 2008

A bird stood quiet
He did not know I was there
He ate from the grass
He seem not to care
I watched from a safe distance
Learning his ways of life
Quietly and unstaring was I
It was mid day
Not so late that the sun didn't shine
It was just right
The sun was mid way in the sky
She was happy
For it was almost time for bed
Soon she knew it was time to rest her head
I looked on with ease
Watching the bird hop side to side
A dance!, said I
He looked at me with strong eyes
Rapid and uncertain
I eased back
Knowing that I had to be quiet
Carefully he hopped to me
His head tilted south as if he liked me
I smiled rose to my face
He looked at me with a uncertain taste
He didn't know me
For I didn't know him,
so I calmly greeted him with my hand
I could see that he wasn't sure
He eyes told it all
But he got closer indeed
So I kept quiet you see
My other hand moved slowly
A crumb lay in my hand
I threw it to him
Jumping quickly he bit down
He unrolled his feather
Taking flight
My eyes roamed the sky for a moments time
Watching the bird fly away in the nice sky
