Frozen, Icy Tears

by Madison   Apr 16, 2008

He manages to smile as I reach out for his hand.
He knows he has to do it, and I won't understand.
I say, "Hey, what's wrong? Tell me what's on your mind."
The snow begins to fall like frozen, icy tears
Just like the ones that glide down my face
When I realize he is going to end it after all these years.
He tells me he's sorry, and he's not quite sure why,
Why he must do this, why he has to say goodbye.
I say that it's okay, but inside I know it's not.
I've never felt this way before.
I feel like death, life, nervous, cold, and hot.
