Trigger finger

by lost   Apr 18, 2008

I set alone in a cold dark room
Shivering as thoughts of you
Race through my mind
Tear me apart
And rip out my heart
You took the pain
Took the names
You took it all and held it in
And so you took your life
You left me here to cry
To wallow over you
To wish for one more time
That you were in my arms
And not beneath the dirt
If only I had held you longer
Maybe if I'd tried harder
Could it be that if you knew
Just how much I loved you
It would have saved your life
And kept your finger off the trigger
