Life Anew

by Darlene   Apr 24, 2008

Signs of Spring bloom around me
Softening the harshness of winter
Beauty emerges, bursting with color
Promises of life with all its splendor

These are the words my dear
That rang in my mind, consumed my heart
The first time we ever met
The first time I gazed into your eyes

I saw colors I thought had faded
My heart had almost turned to ice
But the warmth of your smile
Melted my heart - soothed my soul

Your eyes held me spellbound
Bringing forth comfort and truth
Rivers of kind words flowed from your lips
You spoke of a river that should never end

As our evening came to an end
I wasn't scared or feeling blue
For what my heart had felt
Was the promise of Spring from within
