You Aren't There

by Madison   Apr 25, 2008

In your name, I find meaning.
To you, I am screaming.
I do this with a broken heart . . .
A broken heart that's still beating.
When you look at me, I still get that little spark of emotion.
You take me away and provide an escape from life's commotion.
I don't think I love you, but it hurts so much to hear you lie.
When you speak false words to me, all I long to do is cry.
So many nights, I have done exactly that.
I would drown in my tears just wishing to die.
Then, my nightmare would be over, and so would your hurtful act.
I thought we were there for each other, but you don't have my back.
