Goodbye

by Remie   Apr 30, 2008

The world is a cold place when you're gone,
I think of you as I sit here feeling lost and alone,
For some reason we just weren't meant to be,
Not a plan of fate, a different destiny,

And yet it felt so right being in your arms,
The world seemed a brighter place when there was just you and I,
You lifted me up so high I swear you made me fly,

But it was all an illusion,
And somewhere, lost in all the confusion I slipped and fell from your grace,
Couldn't keep up with your grinding pace,
Now it's a past left far behind us,

The nights are cold without you,
I had my doubts, though I thought we may survive,
It's strange, when I was with you I felt so alive,

Even though it's over it feels like it's only just begun,
The feelings continue growing stronger,
Over time they'll never fade,

How is it that; something so real was never meant to be?
Fading in and out,
Becoming part of our history,

I thought we were ready,
Even against all the odds,
Maybe we just aren't strong enough,

It was a cruel twist of fate to tempt us,
Make us believe we stood a chance,
Forever would never be long enough to become entranced with your hearts romance,

Maybe it is time I learnt to say goodbye,
Time to let you go,
It's over now,
I'm reaching for the sky,

It's never over,
never truly letting go,
but the time to accept your gone has come,
and now to the world i'll forever become numb.
