Words from the depths

by Brad Quammen   May 1, 2008

As I imagine your face within a blink of my eye
I begin to wander in my thoughts,
forever searching for the truth in your words
Though I feel alone,I am not
For you are with me,you are my heart
My heart beating at the speed of a humming bird's flap,
I caress your face,
Indulging myself with your beauty, your innocence
All my life,I have longed for one such as you
Your beauty spares no heart, likewise my own
I am no fool nor coward, yet I struggle to deny you
I can't...I wont...

Thus I must be weak in the soul, for you have chained my heart
out of reach of all who seek it,yet alone ever will
I am yours and yours alone,
I breathe for you,as you do me
filling my soul with kindness,
Inflaming my passion
No words can truly express my emotion,
my attempt is weak at best, though
I try
These are all but words, words from the depths of my soul,
searching for your ears, for your heart

You were actually reading this to me when you first showed this to me. And all I did was close my eyes and I could imagine the beauty of this poem in my head.
