Uncertainty

I'm beginning to doubt your warmth.
i'm so afraid of losing you to similarity.
you're turning, turning out just like him.
hesitant and holed away, i can't reach you.
i'll let the echoes of your promises reassure me
that you need me as much as i need you.
your voice holds my hand through the days you're so far away,
because forever is a promise and i trust your words.
please, oh don't ever let them stop loving me.
your declarations stay true even when you aren't,
and with me they stay complete with meaning.
together our proclamations mingle and become blinded truth.
i love you more than chocolate covered peanut butter kisses
in between commercial breaks,
while you only love me without straps or strings, it seems.
convince me that my pale skin beneath your hands
isn't the only reason you say 'i love you, too.'
my lips on your neck and teeth on your skin,
i'm dying to bite down and see if anything living lies beneath.
it would prove to me that your frigid air is just front ,
and i may be able to weather this through.
(just keep talking, don't let your words betray my heart.)
